PLASTERING
INSTRUCTIONS
1. The Plastering Crew has completed the finish of your Swimming Pool and you will now start filling the pool with water.
2.
During the course of filling, DO NOT remove the HOSE and DO
NOT ALLOW anyone in the pool. DO NOT touch the plaster until pool is full, make sure
water is up thru skimmer. The pool is
full when the water has reached a level of 3” from the top of the tile. UNDER NO
CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU STOP THE WATER WHILE IT IS FILLING. Wet down the steps, walls and floor of the
pool, during this process. Walls and
Floor of the Pool must be KEPT MOIST while pool is filling. SPRAY DOWN WALLS
AND FLOOR AT LEAST FOUR TIMES AFTER THE POOL IS PLASTERED TO KEEP SURFACE WET
WHILE POOL IS FILLING.
3.
When the pool is filled, contact us to
schedule the “START UP”. Any questions
regarding care, maintenance or chemicals needed will be answered at that time.
4.
When we have completed the START UP, the
pool must be BRUSHED DOWN at least TWICE DAILY FOR THE FIRST
TWO WEEKS. The more your pool is
brushed the smoother the plaster will be.
5.
DO NOT TURN ON YOUR HEAT, OR USE YOUR
POLARIS FOR 2 WEEKS AFTER NEW PLASTER.
1.
PLASTER is NOT a slick tile like finish, it is hand
troweled to be as smooth as possible.
2.
PLASTER is NOT perfect or flawless. It is as flawless as can be expected when
done by hand troweling.
3.
Your pool is plastered with a raw mined
marble or limestone product and white cement.
Inherent in the product is specks of Mica, which are put there by nature
and can not be removed.
4.
You will see a certain amount of SMALL
CRACKS and CRAZING. These are called
“CHECKS” (Spider web like) and are normal in all plastered pools.
5.
You may notice a BLOTCHY, GRAY MOTTLING or
a treated appearance developing on the plaster before the pool is filled or
after the water clears. This is the
NATURAL CURING PROCESS of the plaster.
Several months may go by before the plaster cures to a fairly even shade
of whiteness.
6.
Plaster is not warranted against
DISCOLORATION AND STAINS since such plaster defects generally results from
local water conditions, improper use of chemicals, or lack of improper cleaning
of the pool.
